The "Überbrückungshilfe" for students in pandemic-related emergencies provided by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) ends as scheduled on September 30, 2021.
As the student labor market has recently recovered noticeably, the number of applications for assistance has steadily declined in recent months. For this reason, the BMBF and the Deutsche Studentenwerk (DSW) have agreed to phase out the grant program after September 30, 2021, as planned.
To date, a total of 403.000 applications have been submitted and almost 182 million euros have been awarded via the student services organizations. This has helped around 100.000 students.
