With the Studi-Ticket, all enrolled students at Lake Constance can use public transportation at a reduced rate for the duration of one semester. (A valid student ID is required.) Below you will find more information about the different tickets, areas of validity and sales outlets.
All students in Konstanz (University and HTWG) can use all buses in the city area free of charge every day from 7 p.m. until closing time (night bus excluded) because of the "Studierendenwerk fees". All that is required is a valid student ID.
Entitles to any number of trips by bus and train in the city area (including the bus in the east wind area of Kreuzlingen) and the ferry Konstanz-Meersburg, in the period of the respective semester.

Those who live outside of Konstanz can purchase an additional upgrade for the VHB area. This upgrade entitles you to travel on buses and trains (2nd class) in the entire VHB network. To use this upgrade, the Studi-Ticket Konstanz is additionally required.
With the JugendticketBW, students under the age of 27 can use public transport throughout Baden-Württemberg. Please note – the Constance—Meersburg ferry and the Ostwindzone (Kreuzlingen) are not included in the JugendticketBW, you will need the Stadtwerke Konstanz Studi-Ticket in addition.
The discounted JugendticketBW for students of the Constance universities, which is valid for one semester, can be purchased online on the VHB website and then collected from the HTWG or the University of Constance. When you pick up your ticket, your date of birth and enrolment status will be checked. For this purpose, you will need an official photo ID and a certificate of enrolment.
Validity for one semester HTWG: Summer semester, March-August and winter semester September-February
Validity for one semester Uni Konstanz: Summer semester, April-September and winter semester October-March
In Baden-Württemberg, a discounted Deutschlandticket for young people at an annual price of 365 euros is planned to become available from 1 December 2023. The ticket is to replace the JugendticketBW, which has been available since March 2023. The State Ministry of Transport, the Landkreistag (Association of Counties) and the Städtetag (Association of Cities) have agreed on this.
By paying the solidarity fee, all students have the opportunity to use public transportation free of charge from 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 4 p.m. on Saturdays, and all day on Sundays and holidays. All that is required is a valid student ID.

For all students at DHBW Ravensburg/Friedrichshafen, RWU, PH Weingarten and Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen, the Bodensee-Oberschwaben Vehrkersverbundgesellschaft (bodo) also offers a Studi-Ticket. With this ticket, students can use public transportation throughout the entire transport network.
