Tips for finding accommodation

How to find accommodation for your studies in Konstanz, Friedrichshafen, Weingarten or Ravensburg

Our halls of residence offer around 3,000 rooms for students who are struggling to find accommodation on the housing market. This makes it easier for some students to start their studies in the Lake Constance region.

Unfortunately, not everyone can be accommodated in our halls of residence, so you can find further private and external accommodation options here. However, these are not usually non-profit organisations. Please check them carefully and contact us if you have any questions or problems.

Step 1: Your place in the Seezeit residence hall

Apply directly with us! Our rooms are close to the university, affordable and student-friendly.

Start by applying for a room in one of our Seezeit halls of residence and inform yourself about living at Seezeit.

Step 2: Use our other accommodation services

Private offers for rooms and shared flats on seezeit.com.

In addition to our halls of residence, we offer two other ways to find a home. It's best to check them out right after you submit your online application with us – just in case we can't offer you a place in one of our halls of residence.

  • Seezeit room exchange:  Private rooms, shared flats and apartments especially for students in the Lake Constance region – free of charge and commission-free.

  • Wohnen für Hilfe: Discounted or rent-free accommodation if you support your landlords in their everyday lives – a living concept based on mutual help.

Step 3: External alternatives

Find additional options outside of Seezeit.

If you cannot find anything in our halls of residence or on the room exchange and ‘Wohnen für Hilfe’ is not an option for you, you should consider other alternatives.

Alternatives

  • Search on well-known online room exchanges.
  • Definitely expand your search radius: look at places in the surrounding area with good transport connections (city bus, VHB, train).
  • For Konstanz: consider living in Switzerland (Kreuzlingen, Canton of Thurgau).
