You can make cashless payments by chip card (depending on the university, Seezeit MensaCard, UniCard, ZACK-Card or student ID) in our canteens and cafeterias. With EasyLoad, we offer you an additional service which makes topping up your credit even faster and more practical. And besides, you can easily benefit during the EasyLoad action weeks.
Any chip card with EasyLoad can be topped up easily and in seconds by direct debit at the till whenever you want. All you have to do is complete your one-off registration for EasyLoad - in the Seezeit Service Center Konstanz or at one of the canteen tills.
You will give the Studierendenwerk a SEPA direct debit instruction when registering. At the same time, you can set the remaining balance amount at which you wish to top up in future and the amount you would like to add to your card. You can change both of the amounts at any time on the EasyLoad online portal and track your transactions there.
There are two options
EasyLoad is a procedure for topping up your chip card credit directly at the Seezeit tills. When you register for the first time, Seezeit will give you a SEPA direct debit instruction form. You set a remaining balance amount (e.g. €5) and a top-up amount (min. €10, max. €50). If you fall below the remaining balance when you are paying at a till, the cashier will ask you if you would like to top up your card with the amount you have set. If you say yes, the amount will be debited from your account. If you wish, you will be provided with a till receipt.
Anyone who has a giro account in the EU that accepts SEPA direct debits and has a giro card and chip card with the Seezeit payment function (UniCard, MensaCard, ZACK-Card, student ID card, etc.) can use EasyLoad.
You must complete a one-off registration with your chip card to use EasyLoad.
There are two options
- Personally at the register in the Mensa or in the ServiceCenter Konstanz - please bring your student card/MensaCard
- Online: To do this, you need an account that you can activate at the register or in the ServiceCenter - please bring your MensaCard / student ID. You will receive a password and your customer number. With this data, you can register in the online portal on the website seezeit.com/easyload.
Setting the remaining balance (which can be any amount you choose) and the top-up amount (min. €10, max. €50) when you register determines the point at which you want to top up your balance at the tills in future and the amount of credit you wish to add. If you fall below the remaining balance when you pay, you will be asked at the till whether you wish to top up the card. If you say yes, the top-up amount is credited to your card and debited from your account. If you say no, you will be asked again the next time you pay at one of the tills.
You can change both of the amounts at any time after you have registered on the EasyLoad online portal.
With EasyLoad, you can top up your card at any Seezeit till. If you fall below the remaining balance when you are paying at a till, the cashier will ask you if you would like to top up your card with the amount you have set. If you say yes, the amount will be debited from your account. If you say no, your card will not be topped up and you will be asked again the next time you pay at one of the tills.
You can only add the top-up amount you have set at the tills.
It is not possible to top up EasyLoad at the turnstile (Seezeit-Teller at the University of Konstanz), washing machines, self-service coffee machines or drinks machines.
For security reasons, EasyLoad can only be topped up once a day.
EasyLoad is available at the tills approx. 30 minutes after registration.
A top-up via EasyLoad is only possible once a day for your security, to prevent misuse.
No. The chip card can only be topped up at the till via EasyLoad if a purchase transaction is being processed at the same time. These two processes are linked technically in the till system and cannot be separated.
If your card is handed in to Seezeit, you can collect it from the Seezeit Service Center. You can block your chip card at any time at the Seezeit Service Center, at the tills or on the EasyLoad online portal. To do so, you need your chip card serial number, which you will find on your direct debit mandate. You also require your password, which you were given on a separate printout on registration, to block your card via the online portal. If you do not know your card serial number, it is also possible to arrange for the card to be blocked by means of the bank details provided. In this case, please bring your giro card with you to block the card.
Please note: The system configuration means that blocks on cards carried out at the tills will only take effect on the following day. Seezeit accepts liability for top-ups carried out via EasyLoad after the card has been blocked. If your card is found, you can have it unblocked in the Seezeit Service Center or at the tills. Alternatively, you can arrange for the balance on your blocked card to be transferred to a new card on the next working day in the Service Center. EasyLoad is not affected by a block on the card, the SEPA direct debit instruction remains in place, but it cannot be used actively while the card is blocked. As soon as your card is unblocked, you can continue using EasyLoad.
There are two options
If you do not know your chip card serial number, you can get a read-out of your serial number in the Seezeit Service Center. If you do not know your password, you can have a new password issued at the Seezeit Service Center or at the till. Please bring your chip card, your girocard and your ID card in both cases.
There could be several reasons why your card is blocked:
EasyLoad is not affected by a block on the card, the SEPA direct debit instruction remains in place, but it cannot be used actively while the card is blocked. As soon as your card is unblocked, you can continue using EasyLoad. Please note that the system configuration means that the card can only be used again the day after it is unblocked. If you have cancelled the direct debit instruction on the EasyLoad online portal, you must register for EasyLoad again with your giro card in the Seezeit Service Center or at one of the canteen tills.
Whenever you end your studies or your employment at the University of Konstanz, please return your chip card to the appropriate place (UniCards to Seezeit at the University of Konstanz, MensaCards to one of the tills, etc.). You can cancel the direct debit instruction in advance on the EasyLoad online portal, in the Seezeit Service Center or at the tills. When the card is returned to Seezeit, the direct debit instruction is cancelled automatically. You can arrange for the remaining balance (and the deposit for MensaCards) to be refunded to your account.
Depending on the condition of your card, you can transfer the remaining credit from your defective card onto a new one in the Seezeit Service Center. Please obtain a new chip card first (UniCard from the University of Konstanz, Seezeit MensaCard from the canteen tills). Seezeit will cancel the direct debit instruction and destroy your old chip card once their credit has been transferred. You must register for EasyLoad again to be able to use it with the new card.
If one of the following error codes appears when you use your chip card, please contact the Seezeit Service Center:
