Winter mowing in the Wollmatinger Ried

In order to preserve the biodiversity of Wollmatinger Ried, the largest nature reserve on Lake Constance, the reed must be constantly maintained and monitored. This task is carried out by the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) in Constance. All students at universities in the Lake Constance region now have the unique opportunity to enter the otherwise inaccessible nature reserve in November.

NABU invites all students to help with the winter mowing of the Wollmatinger Ried. Rakes and pitchforks are used to collect the cuttings and clear them from the meadows. All helpers make an essential contribution to the preservation of valuable and unique habitats for rare plants and animals.

NABU will provide free food and drink on site. You will also receive a voucher for a guided tour of the nature reserve in spring. When everything is in bloom, you can inspect your work with your own eyes.
