AI: My Study Buddy – poster competition with €10,000 prize money is looking for your perspective on AI in higher education.

Artificial intelligence has long been part of student life—whether for research, writing, or structuring ideas. In the 40th poster competition of the German National Association for Student Affairs, you can show how you experience this development: as support, as a challenge, or somewhere in between.

Between support and competition

Artificial intelligence is changing how we learn, work, and create. It helps in everyday tasks, but also raises new questions: What still counts as your own work? What happens to creativity? And how does AI change collaboration in academic life?

This is exactly what the competition is about. We are looking for creative, critical, and forward-looking perspectives on how AI is shaping student life today.

Space for your perspectives

The competition does not prescribe a specific viewpoint. You can portray AI as a study buddy, a source of friction, or something that cannot yet be clearly defined.

What matters is an original and independent design response to the topic.

Who can participate

Eligible participants are students of graphic design, communication design, or visual communication who are enrolled at a state or state-recognized university in Germany in the summer semester of 2026. Closely related degree programs may be accepted if they have a strong design focus. Vocational schools are excluded.

How to participate

Registration is done online. Once your eligibility has been verified, you will receive a personalised upload link by email, likely in early June 2026. You may submit up to three posters in DIN A1 format; teamwork involving up to three people is also permitted. It is important that you adhere to the design guidelines and submit only your own work. Stock images are not permitted. If you use AI tools in your design, please specify the system used when submitting your entry.
