Turnstile at the conveyor belt expected to be repaired in May

Update on the broken turnstile at the conveyor-belt in the Giessberg Canteen

Unfortunately, the turnstile with payment function at the conveyor-belt service area for the Seezeit-Teller is still out of order — and believe us: we find this just as annoying as you do. We would have liked to have found a much faster solution, and if we could fix the problem ourselves, we would have done so long ago. Unfortunately, the device, with its integrated payment function, is technically very complex, and in this case a simple repair is not enough. We are therefore dependent on external delivery and installation dates.

 

We have now received feedback from the manufacturer that the new turnstile system will be completed by 19 May 2026. However, we have not yet been given a specific installation date. We are doing our best to arrange the installation as quickly as possible.

 

Until then, our colleagues in the Mensa are working with adjusted procedures to keep the impact to a minimum. To help things run more smoothly in the entrance area, we have temporarily placed additional cutlery by the trays on the left after the turnstiles. We apologise for the inconvenience and ask for your understanding and cooperation.

 

What can you do?

 

  • For the Seezeit-Teller, please use the staircase on the right and the right-hand one of the two adjacent turnstiles, take your cutlery on the right and collect your tray from the conveyor belt

  • For hin&weg and KombinierBar, please use the staircase on the left and the left-hand turnstile, and take your tray and cutlery from the left

  • For all other options, such as the salad buffet, grill, stew, pizza, currywurst and cafeteria, please use the entrances in the cafeteria area whenever possible

  • At the checkouts, please take out and have ready everything you need for payment in good time
